The roles that women play today are complex and multi-faceted. With this complexity comes evolving experiences, challenges and barriers to success.
How do we seek to understand and better support the multi-faceted identities of today's woman and what are our aspirations for women of tomorrow? To address this, YWLC and Bumble have co-created a survey (https://forms.gle/Thk1BVmko2kR1GCu5) on the perception of the roles of women and gender equality in Singapore. YWLC x Bumble's Diversity in Womanhood: Women of Today and Tomorrow event brings together women and allies together for a dialogue guided by the survey findings.
The event aims to unpack what it means and takes to be a woman in the context of today's landscape, in the 21st century and within Singapore, tackling experiences that women face in the realms of work, relationships and family.
The session will kick off with a panel discussion to understand the current state and barriers to achieving gender equity. Attendees will also hear the challenges, stereotypes and expectations women in general face at work and life through the unique lens of the speakers.
This is then followed by breakout sessions where attendeess will have the opportunity to join two facilitated small group discussions centered on the themes of work, career, relationships and family. At the start of registration, attendees will be able to choose their preferred topics during registration, on a first-come-first-served basis.
By creating an inclusive, supportive and safe platform for women and allies to share their perspectives, the event seeks to foster a deeper understanding of the perceptions surrounding gender equity in Singapore and pave the way for meaningful change.
