Opening Fireside chat with Guest-of-Honour
Rahayu Mahzam

The launch of the White Paper on Singapore Women’s Development in 2022 has outlined concrete actions to take collectively towards a fairer and more inclusive society in the next decade. We invite our GOH, an active advocate for levelling the playing field for women, in a candid fireside chat. Through her lens, we hope to uncover the meaning of gender equity at a personal level, and what it could look like for Singapore.

Panel discussion Embracing Equity in Singapore
Stacey N LacyKhairah RahimLionel Wee

Embracing equity forges harmony and unity and should be in the DNA of every society. The conversations on Women's Development have initiated a series of discussions exploring how we can work towards and aspire building a society that embraces diversity and is built for inclusion. In this panel, we will be bringing together a line-up of diverse voices to further this discussion and dig deeper into what it means to embrace gender equity in our local community.

1) Understanding where we are: What are the existing gaps in gender equity in the local context, from different perspectives of our society?
2) Finding common ground towards building a more equitable future: What changes or mindset shifts need to happen and how can we take collective responsibility to be part of the solution?
3) Moving forward: What would an equitable society look like, especially for women in the next decade?

The Human Library is designed to be a safe space where we can have authentic conversations about the importance of equity in different realms of life. Through the lens of advocates and allies from diverse backgrounds, we can gain a deeper understanding of how we can actively support women within our own sphere of influence.
